Our club season operates from September to March on Friday nights:
This is a great opportunity for new comers (both athletes and volunteers) to learn and practice new skills and procedures.
Starts the first week of October.
The nights begin at 5.45pm for warm up. Competition starts at 6.00pm.
Tiny Tots run on Friday afternoons starting at 5.00pm.
In the event of wet weather, Jimboomba Little Athletics make an announcement by 5.00pm via our Facebookpage. In most cases, a short weather event or shower will not effect competition, however the safety of the kids will always be our priority and a decision is made with this in mind.
Little Athletics is a relatively inexpensive sport with no weekly fees once registration is paid. Most inter club carnivals are less $15 and coaching is capped at a very affordable rate (please contact individual coaches for exact pricing). Our current season prices are as follows:
Please note there is a very strict No Refund Policy imposed by LAQ.
A $75 family levy is charged but carried over or refunded at the ended of season for families who consistently contribute as volunteers during the season.
FairPlay vouchers can be used for registration.
Age Championship points are awarded in each event as follows:
7 points for 1st, 5 points for 2nd, 4 points for 3rd, 2 points for completion and 1 point for participation without completion.
Certificates are given for 100% attendance. 5 and 10 year badges are also presented.
To be eligible for any award, athletes must have participated in a minimum 60% of available events.
Thankyou to the following volunteers who have stepped up for the 2020/2021 season:
Volunteering is a huge part of Little Athletics. Each Friday night, in excess of 150 volunteers are needed on the field alone to ensure things run smoothly and our kids get the most out of the scheduled activities. Whether you’re setting up or packing away equipment, organising the kids into their events, measuring and recording results, starting the track events, or manning the tuckshop, it’s all very important and it’s a great way to make new friends. Best of all, you will have a front row seat to watch your kids compete.
Although we do collect registration fees at Jimboomba Little Athletics, much of this funding goes to LAQ and LAA, and the rest is put aside for bills and maintenance. Nothing is left over for manpower and all the work is conducted by volunteers.
Our committee is a really friendly bunch and we are always looking for new faces. Please feel free to come and see us in the office, or contact us by phone or email if you would like to get involved.
Athletes with a disability are more than welcome at Jimboomba Little Athletics. AWD athletes complete alongside their able bodied friends and modifications are made to support the individual needs of each athlete. AWD athletes are also welcome at all coaching / training sessions.
