Jimboomba Little Athletics

We can't do it without you...

Volunteering is a huge part of Little Athletics and many hands make light work! Each Friday night, in excess of 150 volunteers are needed on the field alone to ensure things run smoothly and our kids get the most out of the scheduled activities. Whether you’re setting up or packing away equipment, organising the kids into their events, measuring and recording results, starting the track events, or manning the canteen; it’s all very important and it’s a great way to make new friends. Best of all, you will have a front row seat to watch your kids compete.

PLUS to reward our volunteers who help out for more than 60% throughout the season, you will receive a credit of the Family Levy off your season fees for the following year.

Here are just a few examples of jobs that you can sign up for to help – (and not all of which have to be done on a Friday night!)

  • Age Marshal / Parent Helper to take around age groups on Friday night – this is a great way to be able to watch your kids from inside the field!
  • Canteen Helper
  • Equipment set up / pack down
  • Groundskeeper Jobs – ie mowing, weeding etc
  • Admin duties
  • Vest Washing

… just to name a few!

Would like to help out but not sure how? Just ask!
Our committee is a really friendly bunch and we are always looking for new faces. Please feel free to come and see us in the office, or contact us by phone or email if you would like to get involved.

Although we do collect registration fees at Jimboomba Little Athletics, much of this funding goes to LAQ and LAA, and the rest is put aside for bills and maintenance. Nothing is left over for manpower and all the work is conducted by volunteers.

'How To' Event Videos

We understand that sometimes it can feel a little daunting to help on events. So we have compiled a few of the LAQ ‘How-To’ Videos below to give you a better idea of the basics and what jobs might need to be done. And if you’re unsure, just ask! There are usually lots of people around who are more than happy to show you – and would be very happy to have your help!
